Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre is located at the tip of the shore on Hong Kong Island. The iconic structure along the island side of Victoria Harbour was completed in 1997. On June 31 of the same year, it became the venue where ceremony of the transfer of sovereignty of Hong Kong took place, symbolising that Hong Kong is now a part of China, after years of British rule.

Despite the rapid development of technology and mobile network, Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre is still a prominent venue providing a platform for personal, face-to-face communication for commercial, cultural, intellectual and creative exchange. At the same time, through Harbour-Front Enhancement subsequent to reclamation works on Hong Kong Island, Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition and its surrounding area is deemed to continue its service as an energetic public space to the society.
